Things I can’t wear in Chicago this weekend….these jeans! It is going to be hot! I am not complaining though. I remember winter like it was yesterday. Well, it kind of was this year:) (affiliate links below)
The award for the most awkward flip flop wearer ever goes to….Joey. I have never seen someone wear flip flops the way he does. I can’t stand to watch him walk in them so Zappos to the rescue. These sliders are a much better option for him. I also got these gym shoes for him at the end of the school year and he loves them.
Late afternoon on Friday, we pulled in the driveway to find a few neighbors outside talking and all their kids playing. Of course we went over to join in the fun. Next thing I know, another neighbor and her kids saw us outside so they came over too. I did what any good neighbor would do…..ran home and grabbed a bottle of wine. We might have drank wine out of the kid’s plastic cups in the driveway. We are just fancy like that. Then we ended up having a last minute pizza party/bonfire at our house. To me, that’s a pretty good start to a weekend! So thankful to live on a street where this type of thing happens quite often!
Saturday, I finally got the pedicure I so desperately needed. We have been so busy with the kid’s activities that I haven’t gotten a lot of time to myself. This is one of my favorite polish colors for the summer and I am wearing my super comfortable work shoes. Flip flops are one of the perks of working from home:)
Saturday night we took the kids to a fest where Chris Lane and Chase Rice were performing. An excuse to throw on my cowboy boots? You don’t have to ask me twice. It was the perfect night with friends and the kids had so much fun too! We were suppose to stay for Brothers Osborne but Joey maxed out by 9:00. Like screaming and crying and toddler tantrum type of meltdown. You parents might know something about this fun challenge of bringing kids out for the night.
On Sunday, we went to my niece’s soccer game and then had some relaxing time at home. Not all weekends are this balanced, so I enjoyed every minute of it! Hope yours was just as good!
I am loving this peplum tankfrom target. So many ways to wear it. It can be dressed up for date night or dressed down for day time. Here is how I wear it-
Dress it up with these heelsand similar white jeans. Put this cardigan on top for coolevenings. It is super comfy and great quality. You can’t go wrong with this color. It goes with everything!
OR dress it down with some flip flops:) Here is the latest version of these ToryBurch shoes at Nordstrom. Check out this new style too! Love them! Another less expensive shoe for this outfit are these sandals. My friend bought them and they are even cuter in person!
